WHO ARE WE?

Don't let the name fool you!  We are a statewide movement...  a group of activists from all across Texas promoting Constitutional governance in every precinct, one voter at a time.

The Board of Directors includes the following people:

Julie McCarty, President

Julie  is President of NE Tarrant Tea Party in Tarrant County, Texas.  Tarrant is the last large county in Texas that is still red, and NE Tarrant is what is keeping it that way.  If Tarrant turns blue, Texas turns blue.  And if Texas turns blue, the country turns blue! Thankfully, under Julie’s leadership, NE Tarrant Tea Party has become one of the largest and most powerful tea parties in Texas.  She has been featured multiple times on FOX News with Greta Van Sustern, particularly when NETTP filed a lawsuit against the IRS (and won), and she’s a favorite target for the liberal media to hate.  She has also recently been published in a new college textbook highlighting the impact of the tea party on Texas politics!  Julie has volunteered for several victorious campaigns at all levels of government, and her endorsement is widely sought in Texas. In 2012 Julie was elected as 1st delegate to the National Republican Convention in Tampa.  She has successfully worked to transform NE Tarrant Tea Party from a regional group to one with statewide influence.  Prior to her political involvement, Julie earned her Bachelor's in Hotel Administration from Central Missouri State University and worked as General Manager of Baylor Hotel.  She moved to India as a missionary for a year, and then started a career as a retail buyer.  Now Julie manages her family’s real estate investment business and homeschools her daughter.  She resides in Grapevine and, along with daughter Lizzy and husband Fred, attends the First Baptist Church.  Her favorite pastimes include traveling and organizing, something that she gets to do a lot lately as she visits various tea party and GOP clubs to teach them how to replicate what NETTP has accomplished.  You can contact Julie at heyjuliesue@gmail.com.

Fred McCarty, PAC Pres/Treasurer

Fred and his wife, Julie, attended the first tea party rally in Dallas in April 2009.  There they were recruited to begin a tea party in their own city of Grapevine.  Soon they were asked to incorporate Southlake, and then Colleyville.  Eventually it became all 14 cities of NE Tarrant, and now it's a statewide movement with national recognition!  Fred serves as President and Treasurer of the NETTP PAC, an arm of NE Tarrant Tea Party that vets and endorses candidates.  Fred enjoys real estate, guns and pushing the limits, and he's worked for AT&T for nearly 20 years.  He has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Tarleton State University, and he attends First Baptist Grapevine with his wife and his daughter Lizzy.  Lizzy and Julie both will tell you that Fred is the one who provides the humor in the family.  His most interesting story is "How I Became A Democrat Precinct Chair".  Ask him about it!  Fred can be reached at fdmccarty3@yahoo.com

Fran Rhodes, VP of Fundraising

Fran Rhodes is VP of Fundraising, and is currently coordinating efforts to spread the NETTP story at community events and festivals. She has been a member of the Steering Committee since 2011, and on the NETTP Board since 2013. Fran’s previous responsibilities include Coordinator for our Liaison group and  for our Citizen Advocate group, and serving on the events committee. Fran has been active with the NE Tarrant Tea Party since 2010, after becoming dissatisfied with the direction government was taking in 2009.  Fran earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1998 from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She is retired from Re-creations, a division of BKM Total Office of Texas in Dallas. Fran lives in north Fort Worth (near Keller) with her husband, Michael. They have 4 grown children, 2 grandchildren, and a noisy, talkative parrot named Jesse. Her hobbies include sewing, quilting, gardening, and singing in the choir at Keller United Methodist Church. Fran’s previous volunteer leadership experience includes roles as President, Vice-President, and various committee chairs for The American Business Women’s Association, PTA, The Greater Keller Womens Club, The Women of the American Church in Paris (Bloom Where You’re Planted), and the The American Womens Group in Paris.  You can reach Fran at rhodesfran@yahoo.com

Janna Easton, VP of Events

Janna Easton is also a Vice-President for NE Tarrant Tea Party, serving primarily as VP of Events -- and we do a lot of them, making Janna a vital part of our organization!  Janna is retired and became politically active when Obama ran for President in 2008.  She started out as an activist in the Ft Worth 9-12 and then in 2010 joined the NETTP.  She is also an active member in the Metroplex Republican Women and the Northeast Tarrant Republican Clubs.  She has attended the Texas Republican Convention.  Janna worked for the Jeff Cason and Jonathan Stickland campaigns for State Representative. Also she has blocked walked in Hobbs New Mexico for John McCain; San Antonio for Matt Beebe; and in the HEB area for Ted Cruz and other conservative candidates.   She traveled to Austin in past years as an NETTP Citizen Activist.  She served as President of the District 92 Conservative Collation PAC.   Her husband, Darl Easton, has run for City Council and Mayor for City of Euless, and she has worked on his campaigns.   Janna has been active in her community and has served as President of her HOA for 3 years.  She is a Christian and member of First Baptist Euless.   Janna is a proud grandmother of 2 beautiful grandchildren who live in Edmond, Oklahoma. Her desire is to help leave this country to her grandchildren progressing in a better direction than the way it has been going in recent years as she fights against financial and moral decay. Janna's fight is for liberty, and she considers herself a patriot. Janna resides in Bedford, and you can reach her at jeaston4444@live.com.

Donna Smith, Secretary

Donna serves faithfully as the Secretary for NE Tarrant Tea Party, taking care of the filing and reporting requirements for our 501c(4) organization.  Prior to that she has also served on our events team and on our steering committee.  In fact, Donna is one of the original founding members of NETTP!  Donna attended University of Texas at Dallas, is a CPA, and is a shareholder at Guinn, Smith & Co, Inc.  Her hobbies include quilting, parrots, and reading.  She has three sons, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren!  She and her husband Bob reside in Grapevine.

Bob Smith, Treasurer

As the Treasurer for NE Tarrant Tea Party, Bob has had one of the biggest and most important roles for our group!  He is the one who guides us through the chaos called the IRS!  Having successfully won our lawsuit and obtained our 501(c)4 status, Bob keeps us legal -- an easy task for him as co-owner of Guinn-Smith Accounting Firm where he does the same job for churches and and other 501(c) organizations on a daily basis. Bob's passion is flying.  He lives in Grapevine and travels a good chunk of the year with work to North Carolina.

Allan Solmon

Allan lives in Colleyville and is married to his beautiful wife Suzanna.  They have three children who participate in various activities locally. Allan has been an active member of the NETTP since 2009.  As a Board member, he is tasked with the day-to-day financial responsibilities of our group.  His full time job is as a commercial airline pilot for a major US airline.  Prior to becoming a pilot he spent 4 1/2 years in the United States Marine Corps.  After the Marines, he returned home and finished his college degree, graduating from Emory Riddle University.  Allan and his family attend St. Francis Catholic Church in Grapevine.

Charlie Levitt

Charlie Levitt is the most recent addition to our NETTP Board joining us in August of 2016, though he served on our Steering Committee for several years prior to that.  He is a lifelong resident of Tarrant County and a US Army veteran.  He's been married for 29+ yrs to Rosie and is blessed with 4 wonderful children.
