Mar 23: Constitution Boot Camp

Date: March 23, 2019
Time: 9:30 am to 3:00 pm
Cost: $15-$30
Location: First Baptist Grapevine
301 E Texas St
Grapevine, TX 76051
Speaker:

Constitution Boot Camp

We do more in four hours than most schools do in four years!!

Among all the current methods of teaching and/or learning the Constitution, the most effective vehicle has shown to be a one-day, four hour video event known as a Constitution Boot Camp. It has been said to be more effective than online courses, such as those offered by Hillsdale College because the class in completed in one day.

We use a “strict construction” approach to present the Constitution as the founders’ intended it to be understood. Few educational endeavors do this. Most of the covered material is not taught in most public schools, colleges, or Law Schools, but it should be.

The event covers these subjects:

Segment 1: Total time – 45 minutes

  • Misconceptions
  • Rights – Natural versus Constitutional
  • Declaration of Independence

Segment 2: Total time – 45 minutes

  • Oath of Office
  • Enumerated Powers of Congress

Segment 3: Total time – 45 minutes

  • Enumerated Powers of the President
  • Enumerated Powers of the Judiciary
  • God, Church and State

Segment 4: Total time – 45 minutes

  • Amendments
  • Remedies, including nullification

We will open doors at 9:30am for registration, coffee, donuts and mingling. The first session will begin promptly at 10am. Snacks will be provided during breaks, and lunch is provided between sessions 2 and 3. Everything is included -- all materials, snacks and lunch! You just have to love your country enough to show up.

Tickets are $30 for adults. For spouses or family members who can share materials, additional tickets are sold at $15. Tickets for a student class (different from the adult class) for grades 6-10 are $15 and include lunch/snacks as well. Students in grades 11 and 12 will need to determine if they prefer an adult level class or a youth class. The youth class will be conducted partially by Constituting America, which is an organization started by actress Janine Turner and which focuses on teaching the Constitution to students in schools in a fun way. We do not have accommodations for students younger than 6th grade for this event. No one is admitted without a ticket.

Scholarships are available! If you need help, don't let that stop you from coming! Chris Badger of Grapevine Realty has eagerly offered to provide scholarships, and NE Tarrant Tea Party is very appreciative! Email heyjuliesue@gmail.com to inquire. Thanks, Chris!

Tickets can be refunded up to seven days before the event. There are no refunds after that, and we will not be able to find anyone to buy them from you or even give them to. We are all overworked volunteers so please don't ask!

Park in the NW corner of the church and enter the large glass entryway.

Bring pen and paper, and some money if you think you might want to buy DVDs or books.

Dress code is casual.

All are welcome. NETTP does not have dues or memberships. Join us!

If you can only come for part of the day, the price does not change, but you are welcome to work your schedule as needed.

Any questions? Email heyjuliesue@gmail.com.
