NETTP Citizen Advocates Needed

November 25, 2018.

Time to gear up for the 86th Legislative Session!

It’s that time of year again when the Texas Legislature meets for 140 days, making decisions about YOUR life, YOUR money, YOUR family, and our great state of Texas. Are you going to let them do that without keeping an eye on things? I’m certainly not! So I’m lining up volunteers to be citizen advocates, who will help me hold legislators accountable, and promote constitutional conservative values in Texas.

The 86 th Session of the Texas Legislature starts on Jan 8, and it’s time for NETTP Citizen Advocates to hit the road to Austin and take to the phones and emails again. We’ll be promoting the good bills, killing the bad ones, and keeping an eye on our politicians in Austin. Accountability is everything!

As a Citizen Advocate for NETTP, you’ll have a chance to actually make a difference in what legislation gets passed, or stopped. You can be directly involved in the legislative process and gain a better understanding of how the system works.

Citizen Advocates are engaged in
*Trips to Austin to attend hearings, talk to legislators, etc. (single day trips, expenses covered)
*Making Phone Calls or Sending Emails to Legislators
*Helping with research on issues and bills
*Praying for our efforts

Not everyone can make trips to Austin, but there is something that almost everyone can do. We need your help. It takes a lot of people to have an impact, and a few just won’t cut it. We need about 100 people on our Citizen Advocate list! Please consider being a part of this important NETTP program.

By putting your name on the list, you are not committing to anything specific but just agreeing to be notified when we have a call to action. If you are available to participate in that event, you do so, and if not, you try another time.

We provide everything you will need to be an effective Citizen Advocate
*Training
*Transportation for the trips
*Talking points, position papers, instructions
*You supply your own lunch for the trips, your experience & expertise, and YOUR ENTHUSIASM!

I hope you’ll join us in this important effort. In addition to working hard and having an impact, we always manage to build some fun into the equation, so come join us! Our first trip to Austin will be mostly informative, and we’ll plan an interesting side activity. More on that subject later, but you need to sign up!

To be added to the Citizen Advocate list, or if you have questions, email Fran Rhodes, Citizen Advocate Coordinator, with “Citizen Advocate’ in the subject line, rhodesfran@yahoo.com.

Thank you! I look forward to working with you to defend liberty.
Fran Rhodes, Citizen Advocate Coordinator
